Cosmoprof 2006 marks the 39th edition of the global beauty show, which is set for April 7-10 in Bologna, Italy. Last year’s show attracted about 2,000 exhibitors and more than 137,000 visitors.

Over 52 countries will be exhibiting at Cosmoprof this year. First-time appearances will be made from companies in Slovenia, Iceland, Hungary, Czech Republic, the Philippines and Malaysia. Cosmoprof will also be hosting 21 national groups in country pavilions.

The show is divided into four main sectors: perfumery and cosmetics; hair care; beauty; packaging and contract manufacturing.

For the first time, the packaging arm of the exhibition, Cosmopack, will begin and end a day earlier than the rest of the show, running April 6 through April 9.

Cosmopack’s first day, April 6, has been dubbed “Cosmopack Day” and will feature a seminar program dedicated to the needs of the packaging industry. A round table, chaired by J.Y. Bourgeois, will be a part of the program. The results of an international survey of leading trends in communication in perfumery points of sale will also be presented on April 6. Conducted in partnership with Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI), and Tradelab, the survey attracted contributions from production and distribution managers in firms such as Shiseido, Chanel and L’Oréal.
